$12 Million Raised for Childhood Cancer Research
If you’ve ever seen people walking around in crazy green hats and shamrock glasses at your St. Baldrick’s event, chances are those whimsical pieces came from our pals at elope!
$11 Million Raised for Childhood Cancer Research
Twins Jonathan and Drew Scott from HGTV’s hit series “Property Brothers” remind us to stand together and keep aiming higher in the fight against kids’ cancer as we applaud our St. Baldrick’s volunteers in raising more than $11 million to support the best in children’s cancer research.
These two brothers help couples find, buy, and transform fixer-uppers into dream homes and in their free time are helping raise awareness about pediatric cancer. Last July, Jonathan and Drew served as celebrity barbers at the annual 46 Mommas Shave for the Brave event where they traded in their ties and coats – and hammers and nails – for clippers and capes, and instead of renovating rundown houses into modern day stunners, they took a swipe at turning hairy heads into beautiful bald domes. It’s safe to say that these two are men of many talents!

$9 Million Raised for Childhood Cancer Research
2013 St. Baldrick’s Ambassador Avery and her family are thrilled to announce that the St. Baldrick’s community has raised more than $9 million for childhood cancer research!

$8 Million Raised for Childhood Cancer Research
St. Baldrick’s shavee Stephen Woodward celebrates $8 Million in donations in 2013 so far!
Stephen is part of the PartnerRe team, a leading international reinsurance group, but is shaving his head as a virtual shavee on March 23 in Zurich, Switzerland! That’s right, St. Baldrick’s is ‘headed’ to Switzerland!
Over the last 11 years, PartnerRe employees have raised more than $1.3 million for childhood cancer research. As one of St. Baldrick’s corporate partners, the company has gone above and beyond to support St. Baldrick’s, ranking as the fourth highest fundraising team in 2012 and is the childhood cancer foundation’s largest matching gift partner.
Stephen is excited to shave but does not consider his sacrifice of hair an act of bravery. He writes:

Ambassador Luke celebrates $7 Million raised for childhood cancer research
When we asked 2013 St. Baldrick’s Ambassador Luke Fochtman what he wanted to say to all the amazing volunteers out there helping to raise money to help kids just like him live long and healthy lives, he replied with, “Thanks for giving me the chance to build more Legos!”
Thank you, Luke, we couldn’t have said it better!
At just 3 years old, Luke was diagnosed with stage IV embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare type of childhood cancer that affects the muscles. He endured nearly 70 weeks of aggressive treatments — including multiple rounds of chemotherapy, daily radiation — and suffered through many central line infections. Through it all, Luke remained positive and strong.
Luke’s mom, Monica, says:

His parents, Katie and Craig, send their thanks for supporting kids like their son and giving them hope for a healthy future.
“Kids should be out living their lives, not fighting for them. St. Baldrick’s has such dedicated volunteers, and it is so amazing that they have raised so much money already. Being a family fighting cancer is very isolating, and St. Baldrick’s donors and volunteers send a collective message that these families are not alone and people care.”

Michael Fiscus, Romeo, Mich. volunteer event organizer, shares with us how being a St. Baldrick’s volunteer has impacted his life and reveals how long he will continue to support the cause:
“Having the opportunity and privilege to volunteer for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation has had a major impact in my life. I have been fortunate to work with the most amazing team of volunteers, building a massive movement in our community. For us, it takes a village to conquer kids’ cancer.
