The Vernon Hills Capitals announce $23 million raised by St. Baldrick’s volunteers

The St. Baldrick’s community has scored again, raising another million for childhood cancer research, bringing the total to more than $23 million in 2013!

Three members of the Vernon Hills Capitals hockey team, goalie Pete Wisnieff (left), defenseman Mike Bolt (middle), and director of game operations Phil Gutierrez (right), show off their support for St. Baldrick’s and of course their newly shorn heads after hosting a St. Baldrick’s sports head-shaving event.

That night the Capitals took on the Calumet Wolverines and came out winners — just with a little less hair on top! After the last call and the final buzzer went off, a total of more than $3,700 had been raised by the Capitals and local supporters.

A big thank you goes out to the Vernon Hills Capitals for their continued support!

St. Baldrick’s sports events allow sports enthusiasts an opportunity to turn their passion into action while supporting the Foundation’s mission to Conquer Childhood Cancers.
