We're so glad you asked! It's SO easy. Just click here and choose how you'd like to participate. You can be a shavee, volunteer, barber, or Volunteer Event Organizer. Our website will walk you through the registration process, and you'll soon be on your way to a fun and rewarding experience – raising much-needed funds for childhood cancer research and having an amazing time while doing it. Contact us to find out if an event is in the planning stages, or to inquire about organizing an event.
If you cannot find an event in your area (or you are unable to make it to your local event), you can still participate in the Virtual Event. When you register for the Virtual Event, you get to set a date for the big shave and then kick-off your fundraising by collecting donations from friends, family and co-workers. You can get your head shaved at a local salon or the place of your choosing. Friends and family recognize your sacrifice, and you get to be a part of the greater St. Baldrick's family!
No, it does not cost anything to participate. However, we encourage all participants to support the work of St. Baldrick’s by raising as much money as they can for childhood cancer research. Participants who raise at least $50 will get a St. Baldrick’s t-shirt at their event. You'll be surprised how many people will donate to see you with a shaved head – and how generous they’ll be once you tell them what it's for.

You will receive your username or instructions on how to reset your password at the email address we have on file for you. If you do not receive an email within 30 minutes, please call 888.899.BALD (2253), and we'll be happy to help you get signed in.
If you typically sign in through Facebook, St. Baldrick’s will not have a username and password on file for you. You’ll need to sign in using your Facebook login credentials. If you’d prefer to have a username and password created, please contact us at ShaveeHelp@StBaldricks.org.
If you haven't yet registered to be a shavee, simply fill out the shavee registration form, and you will be provided with the option to join or start a team. If you've already registered, sign in to your Members Area and click "Manage My Participation." You can then either click to "Join" or "Create" a team. More FAQs on teams here.
Sign in to your Members Area and click on the "View and Edit Your Page" button. Here you can edit your fundraising goal, change your website message, and more!
Sign in to your Members Area and click on the "View and Edit Your Page " button. Scroll down until you see “St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids.” Here you’ll be able to choose one (or many!) of the amazingly brave kids to honor through your participation.
Sign in to your Members Area and click on the "View and Edit Your Page" button. Here you can edit your "before" and "after" photos by clicking the gray dot below the photo to toggle between "before" and "after" photos. Once you click the pencil icon, you will be able to select photos from your computer to upload.
Sign in to your Members Area with your username and password and click the profile icon at the top of the page and then "Preferences." On the right-hand side of the page, you can click "Connect with Facebook". You will be prompted with a pop-up window to log in to your Facebook account, where you can then connect it to our St. Baldrick’s Facebook application. Now you can share your St. Baldrick’s participant page on your Facebook page!
Sign in to your Members Area with your username and password and click on "View and Edit Your Page" from your personal dashboard. Click on your event name and a pop-up to search for another event will appear. You can then choose the new event that you would like to participate in. You will have a new fundraising page and participant ID number every year that you join a St. Baldrick’s head-shaving event. This helps us to keep track of all your hard work.
Because St. Baldrick’s wants to ensure that all participants are safe at every event, we ask that individuals are at least 3 years of age to participate as a shavee. Any children of this age must get shorn under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Additionally, all participants under the age of 18 are required to turn in a Participant Agreement form signed by their parent or legal guardian prior to shaving.
No. In fact, we hope no one in your life has had to face childhood cancer. You don't have to be directly affected to care about these amazing kids and families, and to do what you can to help find cures. We encourage all participants to personalize their experience by choosing to honor one of these young heroes on their fundraising page. Find out more about Honored Kids here.

If you’re feeling ambitious, check in with your employer to see if they have a matching gift program. They might double, or even triple, your donation!
Sign in to your Members Area with your username and password and then click "Manage My Participation." You will then have the option to share your participant page with your family and friends, by clicking "Share on Facebook" or "Share on Twitter." Another option is to copy and paste your participant page URL link into an email and share it with anyone you’d like!
Sign in to your Members Area with your username and password and click the white gift box icon in the top-right corner of the page. This will direct you to a list of your donors, with the option of thanking them via email. Their contact information is also available to you by clicking the “Download All” button, opening the information in an Excel spreadsheet.
If you created a Facebook Fundraiser directly on the Facebook site, donations received will go to the St. Baldrick’s general donation fund. If you would like donations to count towards your fundraising goal, please visit your St. Baldrick’s dashboard and create a Facebook Fundraiser from there. If you need help getting your St. Baldrick’s Facebook Fundraiser set up, reach out to Fundraising@StBaldricks.org. : If you opted for a physical shavee packet, it should arrive about a week after registering online. If you do not receive a packet within two weeks of registering, please feel free to contact us at 888.899.BALD (2253) or ShaveeHelp@StBaldricks.org. If you sign up less than two weeks prior to your event and requested a physical shavee packet, unfortunately, you will not receive a packet. Instead, refer to our online Shavee Guide.

If your event has a schedule for head shaving, your VEO (volunteer event organizer) will contact you a few days prior to your event to let you know. Look for these messages in the Communicate section of your Members Area page. If you have any questions about the schedule or timing for the day of your event, be sure to contact your VEO directly. Their contact information is listed on your personal Dashboard, as well as the event page.
Shavees do shave their heads. However, we understand that a buzzed head isn’t for everyone. We have many other options for those who don’t want a little off the top. Click here to see all of the other ways you can get involved with St. Baldrick’s.
We don’t collect hair donations, but volunteers are welcome to shave their heads at St. Baldrick’s events and donate their hair to another organization. If you would like to donate your hair, please let your Volunteer Event Organizer and barber know before your event. For more information on how you can donate your hair, check out this blog post.
Donations will appear on your page depending on when the Foundation receives your event proceeds, which can vary by event. Donations made by check will post online approximately 2 weeks after receiving the proceeds from the organizer or treasurer. Cash donations take 3-4 weeks to be processed and posted online. Please be patient; we’re processing millions of dollars in just a few short months, and we want to get it right! If you know you've sent in your proceeds and too much time has passed, contact us at 888.899.BALD (2253) or ShaveeHelp@StBaldricks.org.
All registered participants who raise at least $50 will receive a commemorative St. Baldrick’s t-shirt at their event. If there aren’t shirts in your size, please fill out an After Event T-Shirt Request Form at your event and we’ll mail you one! If you didn't complete this form, please contact us at 888.899.BALD (2253) for assistance.
If you want to shave your head but are unable to make it to your local event, or there isn't an event close to you, don't worry – you can still shave those locks in support of childhood cancer research! All you need to do is sign up for the virtual event. When you register, you get to set a date and time for your big shave, start collecting donations from friends, family, and co-workers, and get your head shaved at a local salon or the place of your choosing. We’ll be sending virtual high fives your way!
Once registered, you can customize the details of your shave (i.e. date, time, and location) by signing into your Members Area and clicking on the "View and Edit Your Page" button. You also have the power to change the details of your shave at any time you’d like!
