DC 2019: Together, We’re Gold!
Each weekday in North America, approximately 46 mothers are told that their child has cancer. The 46 Mommas represent all mothers who make the cancer journey with their child. We come from across the U.S. and have different backgrounds, beliefs, and lifestyles, but there is one thing we all have in common -- childhood cancer. Each year, a new class of Mommas is welcomed to the team in an effort to empower and engage mothers of children who have or had cancer and to raise critical research funding.
Since our first shave in Los Angeles in 2010, we've raised over $2.1 Million for childhood cancer research, and this year, we're heading back to Washington, DC for the third time to meet with our representatives and raise funds for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. We'll also host a head-shaving event, and we want you to be there!
For this special event, a $500 fundraising minimum is required for all shavees. For registered Mommas only, it is a family minimum, covering Mommas and immediate family members who wish to shave. Honored Kids are always welcome to shave with no required minimum, individual or family. For all other shavees, the $500 is an individual minimum.
If you are the mother of a child who has or had cancer and you would like to be a member of the 2019 team, please email membership@46mommas.com to request an application. Registration for the event closes on June 1st.
St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids
Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
