ROC the Bald/Shave for the Brave

Thank you to everyone who participated at the event yesterday for St Baldrick's to raise awareness for childhood cancer and money for childhood cancer research.  Every person that helped in any way is appreciated and helps reach the goal that was set for our event.

Thanks to those parents that have shared their child's story at the event and provided inspiration for why these events happen each year.  Many of these children are listed on the website as honored children and have been chosen to be listed on this event as an honored child.  This is a great way to increase awareness for childhood cancer and to help inspire others as well as support the families if you list one of the local children as a reason to be part of the events (present or future).

Thanks to some other key volunteers: Dawn and Robin who coordinated the raffle and silent auction; Emily who organized the registration process; Jane and Michele who served as treasurers and counted donations submitted yesterday; eight individuals that were barbers at the event.

Thanks for the individuals (Cari; Carol; Jeremy and Toni) doing the photography at the event.

Thank you to those that helped with set-up or clean-up at the event.

Additionally thank you to those that helped put up posters or share the upcoming event on Facebook.

Thanks to the clowns from Grease Paint Alley Clowns; two princesses from Enchanted Princess Parties; Batman; volunteer who came as Snow Queen; various team mascots.

Thanks to those that were there for Be The Match and assisted in helping others register to potentially be a match for someone in need of a transplant

Thanks to Jennifer Bach who was at a table to share Kya's story and had books available for sale that were written by Jeremy to share Kya's journey from a father's perspective.  It is a good book and very insightful so if you have not read it I would recommend it.

Reminder that donations can be submitted towards your participant site until the end of the year.  Checks and cash collected at the event will be processed in the next 4-6 weeks by the foundation and will be showing on the website and your participant page.

Please share photographs on the Facebook page St Baldrick's Rochester NY if you can and be sure to like the page.  Photos that were taken on the day of event will be posted on this page.

Anyone who did not receive a t-shirt on the day of the event please email me at lstiefler@frontier.com so that we can see about getting you the shirt.

Thank you once again and looking forward to another great event in 2018.

Receiving last minute donations that need to be submitted: any checks can be sent directly to the foundation and need to include your participant ID number on the check in the memo section of the check.  If you cannot locate the number please let me know so that I can send you that number.  Checks should include a printed donation form with each check as well and that includes your number on the top of the page.

Checks can be mailed to:

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
