Celebrating 25 Years

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

National Partner

Team SuperMax

Welcome to Team SuperMax. We have answered the call to honor our heroes and fight the #1 disease killer of our children. We've teamed up to have our heads shaved – to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Why do *we* need to raise money for research? Because only 2% of the US government’s cancer research dollars go to childhood cancer research. AND, only 3% of the American Cancer Society’s research funds go toward childhood cancer. Most of us have seen the toll this ravaging disease takes on our older relatives but now 1 in 330 children under the age of 18 are diagnosed with cancer. Imagine what a child must endure to fight cancer.

We're committing to supporting the St. Baldrick's Foundation because they fund more in childhood cancer research than any other organization, aside from the US government. St. Baldrick's, unlike some of the huge entities devoted primarily to adult cancers, is 100% devoted to finding cures for kids' cancer, and improving the quality of life for survivors. They're a lean, volunteer-driven organization, again, unlike some of those other cancer organizations. This is more than a good cause, it's *our* cause, one that we've been called into from first-hand experience. This is for Max and all of his SuperBuddies, the 50,000 kids each year in active treatment for cancer in the US. This is for the seven families each weekday who lose their baby to this horrible disease. This is because we believe that if most people knew about what cancer does to our babies, children, and teenagers, we'd find a way to put an end to it. This is because we believe we can fund a cure.

Again, *please* support us with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when we ask for your support, we're really asking you to support these kids, just like SuperMax. Thank you!
