LOS ANGELES, CA – The St. Baldrick’s Foundation – the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, and Sport Clips Haircuts, continue their commitment to join forces and fund childhood cancer research. Since 2016, the dynamic partnership between Sport Clips and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation continues to make an impact in the lives of children battling cancer.

For the month of April, nearly 1,900 Sport Clips locations hosted an in-store fundraiser collecting donations at the register, allowing clients to donate directly to St. Baldrick’s, with 100 percent of proceeds going to the Foundation and over $393,000 raised.

“When Sport Clips became an official national partner of St. Baldrick’s nine years ago, we were honored to be a part of such an important cause,” said Amanda Palm, Director of Communications & Partnerships for Sport Clips. “This partnership directly aligns with our company culture and values, and this fundraiser gives our team members and clients an opportunity to support our commitment to help St. Baldrick’s conquer kids’ cancer.”

From the beginning, the partnership between St. Baldrick’s and Sport Clips was a no–brainer since St. Baldrick’s is known for its signature head-shaving events, and Sport Clips provides stylists to shave heads. Officially, the St. Baldrick’s and Sport Clips partnership kicked into high gear in early 2016. At the company’s annual National Huddle event in San Antonio, Sport Clips broke the St. Baldrick’s record for most heads shaved in a day.

Kathleen Ruddy, St. Baldrick’s CEO, was on hand to accept the donation, which was used to fund research and clinical trials that find new and better treatments for childhood cancers. That was only the beginning and the momentum picked up from there.

To date, Sport Clips locations have gotten involved in local St. Baldrick’s head-shaving events and hosted their own fundraisers, contributing $3.5 million to ensure the mission of St. Baldrick’s to fuel the best childhood cancer research wherever it takes place in the world.
