"The support from Battle Osteosarcoma has been absolutely transformative for my lab. It has allowed us to stay focused on the research to develop new therapies for osteosarcoma in a way we have not been able to do previously. Battle Osteosarcoma's support has led to additional grant funding, which has allowed us to expand our focus on osteosarcoma, share models with investigators and establish an international collaboration of scientists focused on osteosarcoma. We are deeply grateful for this support and I firmly believe it will make a huge difference for children and young adults dealing with this illness by helping us move faster to find cures." 2021 Impact Report 2020 Impact Report See Donors

In 2019, inspired by the courage and resilience of local OsteoWarriors, Charlotte, Dylan, and Tyler, we founded Battle Osteosarcoma to move the needle on osteosarcoma research. Our goal was to fund promising osteosarcoma precision oncology research at the Sweet-Cordero Lab at UCSF.

Thanks to our generous donors and support from St. Baldrick's we have raised well over $1,400,000 to improve osteosarcoma treatment options and outcomes. With those funds, the Sweet-Cordero Lab made significant progress. Click on the 2021 Impact Report above to learn more.

2021 brought painful heartache, too. Our OsteoWarrior families faced unimaginable tragedy, losing both Charlotte and Dylan to metastatic osteosarcoma. Yet their memories and those of Tyler, who passed in 2015, give us new resolve to make headway against osteosarcoma.

It is unacceptable that the first-line highly toxic chemotherapy regimen has not changed in 40 years and there are no proven treatments for relapsed osteosarcoma. We remain committed to developing better options and a brighter future for patients and their families, so thank you for your support and please stay tuned for what's next.
