Our goal is to raise funds for Dr. Sweet-Cordero's $1,350,000 four-year osteosarcoma research project. Our donors amazed us with their support and generosity, surpassing all our expectations in the first year of our campaign. Inspired by our kids who battle to defy the odds every single day, we strive to beat osteosarcoma. Please donate and help us raise the final amount needed to fund Dr. Sweet-Cordero's grant. Together with St. Baldrick’s we will fully fund this important work to improve treatment options and outcomes for kids battling osteosarcoma.

In honor of Charlotte, Dylan, Tyler, and other OsteoWarriors, our families have partnered with the St. Baldrick's Foundation to Battle Osteosarcoma and raise funds for promising osteosarcoma precision oncology research at the Sweet-Cordero Lab at UCSF.

We kicked off our campaign in April 2019 and thanks to our generous donors and support from St. Baldrick's we have raised well over $1,400,000 to improve osteosarcoma treatment options and outcomes. (Click here to see the full list of generous Battle Osteosarcoma donors). With those funds, the Sweet-Cordero Lab has accomplished the following:

  • Developed 8 new osteosarcoma cell lines and 22 PDX models.
  • Tested 45 new drugs and identified 3 promising drug combinations.
  • Evaluated biomarkers to match patients to therapy.
  • Created a rapid pipeline from lab to clinical trial, resulting in a drug combination clinical trial opening in the next few months.

We invite you to watch a brief video update from Dr. Sweet-Cordero, and to read the St. Baldrick's Foundation Battle Osteosarcoma Impact Statement that details the significant impact your contributions have made in accelerating osteosarcoma research in the Sweet-Cordero Lab.

But we aren't done yet! Battle Osteosarcoma's contributions to date successfully support nearly two years of a four-year research grant. Looking ahead, we hope to continue the momentum and propel more discoveries by fully funding the remaining two years.

We hope that you will help us. If you would like to continue battling osteosarcoma, please consider making another one-time or monthly contribution to build upon the foundational work and discoveries from year one.
