July 2012 - Three is indeed a magic number! When we posted in February, Georgia was about three months from the end of her treatment. We are thrilled to say that she indeed claimed her VICTORY over leukemia on April 29, 2012! So on the day of the 46 Mommas Shave for the Brave in Los Angeles, we'll be celebrating her third month off treatment! Can you tell we like to make a big dang deal out of everything?! Yes!
Throughout her 28 months of treatment, Georgia rose to the many challenges she was presented, and she not only met them, she blew right past them. This year alone, she ranked 4th in her grade, made her triumphant return to ballet class, and mastered the butterfly stroke. And it just so happens that she was conquering cancer at the same time.
Georgia Lee is an absolute shining star, and she is honored to continue the fight for her fellow warriors. We can't wait to see what she does next, but it seems that world domination is imminent!
February 2012 - Three is a magic number! In December, Georgia Lee celebrated her third birthday as a warrior, and now, she's about three months away from the END of her treatment!!! So, to mark this momentous occasion, The Peachy Keens want to raise $3,000 in our third year with St. Baldrick's - and Georgia's crazy momma is leading the charge as one of the 46 Mommas Shavin' for the Brave! It's been a long journey, but our girl has been amazing, and she's almost to the finish line. Help us honor her courage, and that of the 46 children who will be diagnosed today, by supporting the St. Baldrick's Foundation and childhood cancer research.
Through our own journey these past two years, we've learned that research for childhood cancers - including Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia - is woefully underfunded, so supporting the efforts of the Children's Oncology Group and other research organizations is critical to improving treatment protocols and cure rates for our littlest warriors.
The St. Baldrick's Foundation funds more childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government, so your generous donation will not only benefit Georgia Lee, but all kids in the fight against childhood cancers, now and in the future. This could be the year, y'all - let's CONQUER!
