Event Details

Join us to have some fun – and be a hero for kids with cancer! First we had our SEVENTH (yes seventh) STRIKEOUT CHILDHOOD CANCER on Saturday, April 15, from 2-5 pm, at Tarheel Lanes in Hendersonville. And yes, Charlie's and Dugan's get to retain  their 1st and 2nd place trophies! 

Next up, our headliner event (pun intended) will be at Ecusta brewing company at 451 Ecusta Rd in Brevard, on Saturday June 24 starting at 11 am.. We already have four shavees signed up,  one who is a 15 year shavee, who is hard at work already raising $$$.

Our family has been supporting the efforts of St Baldricks since 2005, having head shaving events, bowling  tournaments, and other fundraisers. Since 2017 we’ve raised over $120,000 in western North Carolina. 

When my daughter was 12 years old she was diagnosed with poor prognosis/high risk acute lymphocytic leukemia. Her body was bombarded with toxic chemotherapy, most of which were meant for adults. She’s 39 now, and a mom herself, but the treatment caused many side effects. Our honored kid Gage Guffey wasn’t so fortunate—he died of a brain tumor at the age of 9.
 
During the pandemic, kids were still being diagnosed with cancer, but donations to support research have been down drastically. We can change that – and save lives! All funds raised will go to our Hero Fund, https://www.stbaldricks.org/hero-funds/to-morrows-research-fund to find gentler more effective treatments for children. We can help the biggest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants do more to speed up the search for cures.

Whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer to raise money another way, or make a donation, please join us to give kids with cancer the long, healthy lives they deserve.
