Join us to have some fun – and be a hero for kids with cancer!

In Oswego, it all started in 2007, when the Lakers men's lacrosse team decided to raise funds for St Baldrick's. The team raised about $11,000 that first year, and we felt like rock stars!

But we got bigger and better - quickly! It was $17K in 2008, and $29K in 2009. We moved to a bigger venue, and the community got involved. We kept growing and had to move again, off campus this time, to the Ontario Event and Conference Center, the biggest space in Oswego County. We hit $97K in 2016, our best year. COVID set us back for a couple years, but in 2024, our 18th year, we hit the one-million-dollar mark!

Exhausted, our awesome planning committee members said, "we're done."

So in 2025, the men's lacrosse team participated in the annual St. Baldricks event at Kitty Hoynes Irish Pub in Syracuse; the team raised over $10,000. But then the good people at Kitty Hoynes also said, "we're done."

So in 2026, the men's lacrosse team, which has raised more than $100,000 since 2007, is going back to its roots. We've booked the Food Court in the Marano Campus Center, where we were from 2010-2012, and we're concentrating on the team's fundraising efforts first...

Of course, we invite YOU to join our team in raising funds for life-saving childhood cancer research. You can make a donation, or you can create your own fundraising team. Maybe with friends, maybe family. Maybe you and your co-workers. You don't have to shave your head in solidarity with sick kids; just do what you want to do to show your support.

There may not be as many raffle baskets or silent auction items as we had in the past, but we'll be there - shaving heads, showing support, and giving hope to thousands of kids diagnosed with cancer every day – from babies and toddlers to children, teens and young adults. In fact, you’ll be saving lives!

Our event will speed the search for cures through St. Baldrick’s, the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants.

Join us, won't you?

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
