Event Details

We're sorry to announce that our 2020 St. Baldrick's Day in Oswego County fundraising has been canceled. We will not be able to host our event, and we have decided to cool down for a while before we start to ramp things up for 2021.

We're extremely happy and grateful that, despite the postponement and all the uncertainties surrounding us, we were still able to raise more than $63,5oo this year. In fact, on March 15, just two weeks before our original March 29 date, our website showed our highest total in all our 14 years!

For our shavees - maybe you've shaved your head on your own; maybe, like me, you've let it grow for the past couple of months. I encourage you to fulfill your promise if you have not done so, and use social media to share your shave with the world (look for my Before and After pictures on Facebook sometime soon - I hope!).

You are also invited to view and/or participate in a nationwide virtual shave this Saturday, May 23. Here are the details from the St. Baldrick's Foundation:

Join St. Baldrick’s virtual head-shaving event on May 23rd at 1 PM (EST) in an effort to continue raising funds for childhood cancer research! This special event will include VIP speakers and honored kids, along with many of our awesome shavees who are out there continuing to support our mission. We'll also be broadcasting live on the St. Baldrick's Facebook page so that all of your friends and family can tune in and cheer you on!

To join in, make sure you RSVP by Friday, May 22nd HERE!

I would like to ask that, if you haven't done so already, all fundraisers should finalize their accounts. You can send checks to me (see address below) or directly to The St. Baldrick's Foundation in CA, with your ID# and Event ID #337 in the notation space. You can also use your credit card and trade the cash you've collected for an on-line or phone donation. Let's try to wrap up all transactions by June 30, please.

We still have piles of donations from local and regional businesses and attractions; the ones that don't have expiration dates will be kept for next year, and those that do - tickets to theaters, action parks, professional and college sports, zoos, and museums - will probably go unused.

We thank the many, many people who donated their time, goods, services, and money. Childhood cancer has not gone away, and we will continue to raise money for life-saving research until it has.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks again.

Stay safe.

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
