I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm chosing to shave my head in solidarity of those children who have cancer and don't have a choice to keep their hair but lose it from cancer treatments--and also raising money that is critically needed for childhood cancer research. As a grown-up, have you ever thought what life is like for a child with cancer? Young people are smarter than we give them credit for. They hear discussions at the dinner table, on TV, or at school that someone's uncle had cancer and died. Imagine that you are 10 again and after hearing those conversations, you are diagnosed with cancer. Your future just changed in the blink of an eye. Now, what you have to look forward to is Chemo treatments instead of riding a bike, or perhaps not making it to enjoy your twelfth birthday with your friends and family. In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. I invite you to make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children someday will be lead normal, healthy lives without the threat of cancer. To make a donation, click on "Donate Online" or "Donate by mail or phone." You may never know whose world you touch or the life you save by getting involved. So thank you for your support!
