I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hey, you know why you're here... and it's not just to see me bald! Maybe the thought of kids having to live, and die- with cancer is too much for you to take. Maybe, like me, you've lost someone you care about to this terrible disease. Or maybe, God help you, you lost more than one person. If you have, or even if you haven't and you're just looking at the pictures of these kids... one thing is clear. Cancer doesn't care if you're young, old, what color you are, or how much money you have. It takes everything from you.

As a young adult I watched my Mother, the strongest woman I had ever known, fight a losing battle against cancer. She lost weight, her strength... it was a struggle to get up out of bed or even drink a shake- her primary form of sustenance. But she never lost her spirit. She held on long enough to say goodbye to her family and friends, and early one morning when all of that was done- she slipped away... almost as though it was planned. She was a fighter, and nothing was going to stop her from saying goodbye.

In her loving memory I set a modest goal of raising $500, not knowing what to expect. My family and friends have stepped up and made a difference, and together we've raised over $700! So here's a new challenge... let's crush that $500 goal. Support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation, or sign up yourself. You don't have to shave your head, there are other ways you can volunteer. You're already on the site...check it out and make a difference.
