In 2018, friends from the Osteosarcoma Collaborative (OSC) and St. Baldrick’s Foundation set out to raise $1.5 million to fund a grant to make a big difference for kids fighting osteosarcoma. For the first time in St. Baldrick’s history, a call went out to the research community for proposals specific to this bone cancer that has seen no real progress in over forty years. That grant went to Dr. Alex Huang at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. It helped launch a Phase 1 clinical trial, fueled research leading to FDA Orphan Drug Designation for two new osteosarcoma treatments and propelled research to develop two additional osteosarcoma clinical trials.

Today the Osteosarcoma Collaborative is in the third and final year of teaming up with several well-known pediatric cancer foundations to fund a $1.5 million "Fight Osteosarcoma Together Super Grant." The goal of this grant is to rapidly translate the research into a clinical trial that will benefit patients within three years. We are proud to support Dr. Patrick Grohar at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital who was selected as the recipient of this grant after a thorough scientific review process led by the St. Bladrick's Foundation.

The OSC has partnered with Battle Osteosarcoma, CureSearch, Michael and April Egge, and The Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund at Children’s Cancer Research Fund, and St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund this new Fight Osteosarcoma Together (FOT) Super Grant.
