In 2011, Emalie and Patti decided to shave their heads for childhood cancer research. We decided at the last moment to jump in, hold our breaths, and become shavees. It was a life changing event; there were tears, laughs, and it started a 3 year adventure.
Fast forward two years and the Cancer Crushers were born. With John Sherrell at the helm, we are now in our second year. Last year we raised over $2800 for our team. This year, we hope to have more shavees on our team and hope to raise over $5000.
The money raised supports childhood cancer research. St. Baldrick's gives more than any other group, other than the government. Since 2008, St. Baldrick's has raised over $33 million to help over 175,000 children and young adults diagnosed with cancer.
Want to get involved? GREAT! You can make a donation on the website, become a shavee, and show everyone you are a part of the fight. Come join in on the fun March 1st at The Commons in downtown San Diego. Anything you can do will help. Let's all help to Crush Cancer!
