I am shaving to raise money for childhood cancer research

In a few weeks I will be participating in a head-shaving fundraiser to support childhood cancer research. I make it a point not to solicit to my friends, family, and co-workers (think Girl Scout cookies, popcorn, raffle tickets, etc.), but this one means a lot to me.

Shaving my head isn’t as noble or as brave (or as athletic) as participating in a marathon, but this is for a great cause that I am passionate about. And one thing I’m good at is….growing hair.

Last year, my supporters raised just over $1400, and this year my goal is to raise $2000. Drew Thomas, a trusted ally and co-worker, suggested that I should attach a stretch goal to shave off my beard - so I'm putting that out there, too. If we can raise $3000 my chins will see the light of day for the first time in years.

If I can return the goodwill gesture, please count me in for supporting your family or your cause by purchasing cookies, popcorn, snacks, or raffle tickets or just donating in general.

You have my genuine thanks.

Paul
