Event Details

The date is just a placeholder. To be clear, no date has been set for any single in person event, we will continue to monitor options.
There are a number of teams doing micro events and virtual events through out the year, you can join or create your own.

March is usually a big month for our event, but with the current state of things, we can not hold an in person event in March this year. We have not set an official date for anything, only a placeholder to get the event going.

The pandemic had a massive impact on the St. Baldrick’s Foundation in 2020 with fundraising in the United States dropping dramatically from previous years. Our event was still able to raise  $117,946, through initial fundraising and virtual shaving events throughout 2020. Which is amazing, considering we were in a holding pattern hoping for an in person event, hoping things would open back up.

We have always offered a “do what you want” approach and virtual shaves are an easy and safe way to help raise money for childhood specifics cancers. You do not have to shave your head to help kids with cancer. For 2021, we want to offer options for people to support the cause in any way they can and set their own time frame.

For those that want to shave this spring in support of The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, we will be offering assistance for shaving virtually at home or at a local salon or barber shop. You can join preset dates we announce or choose your own date and we can help. Give yourself 2-3 weeks to raise funds before you go bald for the cause.

If there are teams that want to discuss safe protocols defined by the foundation, we will also be here to support you. One of our favorite teams each year is the Michigan Chivers and they plan to do their virtual event on June 5th. More details to come. We will also work to support micro events with enough notice.

We will have a limited number of shaving kits available for loan, with cape and clippers for those that have the ability to shave at home. We will also be working with local salons and barbers for shaving, space will be limited. Either way, you can get your shirt when you shave with these two options.

We can offer loaner shave kits with clippers, capes, shirts and pins, along with tips for how to shave remotely.

We are looking for volunteers with experience in hosting virtual activities, streaming live, remote learning and strong social media skills. We have some core guidelines from the foundation, but I’m confident we have some talented people in our ranks to help those who want to shave now and have the best experience possible.

In regards to an in person event, we hope to see options that may become possible later in the year, possibly in September. But due to the size of our event, we have to be extra cautious in planning and logistics. Our live event team will make assessments as we get closer to options.

Feel free to sign up and support the cause, in any way that works for you.
If you plan to do a virtual shave, you can sign up now and pick your own date and time to shave.

Be a hero for kids with cancer!

Join this St. Baldrick's event, and whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we hope you'll be a part of the excitement!

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.

Get involved and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers!
