Scott and I are participating in the St Baldrick’s Foundation fundraise on Saturday, March 14, 2014 at the Creek Monkey Tap House in Martinez, CA. We are shaving our heads to raise money for childhood cancer research. Our original goal for participating with the St. Baldrick event was to support a classmate of Scott. For the past year, Scott’s classmate, Justin, was out of school and bravely fought Ewing's Sarcoma. Thankfully, Justin recently completed the treatments and was declared free of cancer. Earlier this week, we learned that Kyle Strongman, a Troop 221 Eagle Scout (6/17/2008), is battling cancer. Kyle has ALK-positive T-cell anaplastic large cell Lymphoma, located in the nervous system. There are less than 25-cases of this disease reported and only 5-cases recorded in medical books. There is no standard protocol for treatment for this type of cancer. Scott and I are dedicating our efforts and fundraising to support Kyle and to give thanks for Justin’s successful treatment. Now we need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Yours In Scouting, Scott Ciabattari Mark Ciabattari
