I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Little Rascals

Let’s find cures so no children have to go through what I did! I am an 8 year old pediatric cancer survivor, who has been cancer free for 4 years. When I was 3 ½ years old I was diagnosed with a large brain tumor. After a 12 hour surgery the tumor was removed, but my battle was just beginning. The surgery resulted in paralysis of the entire left side of my body. I spent months in rehabilitation and I still don’t have full motor function. The surgery was also only one step in my yearlong cancer treatments. I had to have 6 rounds of high dose chemotherapy, resulting in many scary hospitalizations. I also had to undergo 33 rounds of radiation to the brain where I was under anesthesia every day for 6 weeks during treatment. Today I am a happy and thriving kid, but I continue to have challenges from the treatments. Ultimately, I want doctors to find cures and better treatments so no child has to endure the hardships I went through. I am proud to share that some of my doctors from John’s Hopkins Hospital have been previous recipients of St. Baldrick’s grants and have used the money to continue their research. Please consider supporting me as I bravely shave for St. Baldricks!
