I'm shaving my head for the first time in my life to support this great cause. So many of us have either been personally affected by cancer or know someone who has. I have had several people in my life who suffered with this terrible disease.
My father-in-law Warren, a truly great man, lost the battle with cancers several years ago after simultaneously battling lymphoma and colon cancer.
This February my daughter Carly and I attended the memorial service for a young girl at her school name Andrea. Andrea discovered her cancer a few short years ago. The disease consumed her and her family’s life. She moved to America with her family to get desperately needed help, suffered through a leg amputation in hopes of stopping it spread and ultimately lost the battle. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like if it was one of my girls.
A dear friend of mine, Tommy, suffered through a battle with cancer just a few years ago. He was one of the lucky ones who survived, but will never forget the painful ordeal.
The bald head the each of these people experienced is certainly not the most impactful part of their battle, but symbolizes all that they went through. I’m shaving my head in solidarity with these and other cancer patients. I am fortunate enough to be able to do this by choice.
Please help me support this cause. My family and I are offering a dollar for dollar challenge to help raise funds. We will match every dollar donated to my fundraiser up to $1,000. So I can reach my goal of $2,000 if I get $1,000 in donations: $1000 from all of you and our matching funds.
Please click the donate button on this page and donate any amount you’re comfortable with: a week’s worth of Starbucks, $50, $100 or whatever you can.
Thank you for your support!
