I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team March Madness 2

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team March Madness 2

Greetings! I first shaved my head for St. Baldrick's ten years ago in 2009 when I myself had just been diagnosed with "advanced agressive" throat (tonsil) cancer -- Newly diagnosed, I picked up a St. Baldrick's flyer in a doctor's office, and... knowing I was going to lose my hair to chemo anyway... decided to "make lemonade" out of the lemons I had been handed. Shaving my head for St. Baldrick's has since become my passion, something I can't NOT do, each and every year. It is my way of honoring and remembering that all the years since 2009 have been the most precious gift, my very own life returned to me, with NED (no evidence of disease) now.

This will be my 9th year shaving for St. Baldrick's and my $13,595.00 fund-raising goal is significant because with that amount my personal fund-raising total since 2009 will surpass $100,000.00 -- yes, that's one hundred thousand dollars, all because of my amazingly generous and supportive friends and family and work colleagues who have supported me for so many years. THANK YOU! I LOVE YOU!

I am so honored to have my church-sisters Sandy and Kim joining me this year as "Team March Madness 2." What an awesome blessing!

In Genesis 50:20, Joseph tells his brothers, "You meant evil against me, but GOD USED IT FOR GOOD." Praise God for his goodness!

Please SUPPORT ME AND ST. BALDRICKS this year. During the time of my illness, my thought always was "Its OK, its me, I can handle this, its not my child." Cancer is relentless and unforgiving, it never takes a holiday or a day off, and it has stolen too many lives -- and the never-to-be-known promises of those young lives taken so unfairly -- for too long. Join me in this battle please. You don't have to shave YOUR head, just support MY crazy adventure please! St. Baldrick's is a volunteer-powered charity that funds the most promising life-saving research and treatments for all childhood cancers, funding more childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the US government. Now in its 20th year, St. Baldrick's has raised over $255 million dollars, providing research grants to over 273 institutions in 29 countries, all because three friends had a crazy dare among themelves: Would you shave your head and donate the money raised (by your other friends who would pay to see you go bald) to kids' cancer research? THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
