Hi everyone! David and I have been supporters of the annual St. Baldrick’s fundraiser for many years now. This year St. Baldrick’s has very special meaning for us and my family. My best friend of 28 years, Rose, was diagnosed with Cancer in late 2018 and has been undergoing chemotherapy over the past 4 months. Rose started to lose her hair after her first chemo session and in a proactive move shaved her head. She had a head full of beautiful, thick hair so in a gesture of our support for my BFF Rose, I will BRAVE THE SHAVE, along with my husband David Barbosa, my sister Stacey Pimentel and my sister-in-law Paula Pereira. Rose is not just my best friend, she is an extended member of my family who for the past 28 years has been my sidekick, sharing in many happy times creating memories with my family that we will cherish forever. Rose is a caring, compassionate and selfless person who is always there with open arms for everyone in their time of need. We are doing this to show Rose that she is loved and not alone in her fight with this awful disease.
David, Stacey, Paula and I would be truly grateful for any donation you are able to contribute. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Proceeds raised from events in Bermuda will be managed by Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre to fund the SunSmart program and by the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund life-saving research. Thank you for any support!
