I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Winning for Wilson

In the spring of ‘07, fourteen-year-old Nick Reed was diagnosed with a rare and deadly cancer, Stage IV Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. After 5 years of being cancer-free, at nineteen, Nick faced a terminal cancer diagnosis after his freshman year of college: Stage IV Osteosarcoma.

After a courageous battle, Nick’s long struggle ended at the age of twenty.

He was a 2011 graduate of Salem High School, where he was a drum major his junior and senior years: Nick had also been a member of the band since the 5th grade. He was a part of jazz band for three years, in which he played bass guitar. Nick was also a member of the National Honor Society and the German National Honor Society.

He was enrolled at North Central University in Minneapolis, where he was studying pastoral ministries when he got sick again.

Nick loved to serve God, and was very active at the Rogers Assembly of God in Rogers,OH, Gardener Chapel in New Castle, Pa., and the South Oaks Community Church in Elgin, MN. He was active in outreach and ministry work in the inner-cities.

I'm raising money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
