My son Jacob is currently battling a rare cancer called Paraganglioma. He was diagnosed in 2014. It is a very rare nuero-endocrine cancer with no FDA approved therapies for children under 18. He has finished a clinical trial of targeted radiation at the University of Iowa in 2016 and is being treated by cancer experts at the National Institute of Health in Washington DC. His Team of Doctors at NIH are working on research to develop new therapies for this disease and have said there are new, promising treatments on the horizon. Jake is continuing to fight to reach that horizon.
I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Last year, you genourously donated over $2500 to my fundraising efforts. I am setting my goal at $2500 again this year. Let's try to beat that ! Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Please help Jake and all those children with cancer REACH THAT HORIZON !!
