I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Schmeltzer

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Schmeltzer

March is a good time for a little spring cleaning.  So I thought I'd start by getting rid of all of the hair on my head and face.

But there's one thing that'll be even more refreshing than March winds blowing off of Lake Michigan and across my freshly tonsured pate. And that's knowing that I'll be supporting a great cause -- funding cures for childhood cancer.

On March 21st, I will round out Team Schmeltzer in the Fulton Royal BALD shave event. That's because my son Paulie signed up and dared me to join him by shaving my head AND my beard (a regal plexus of whiskers I have fastidiously cultivated for nearly three years).

Well, challenge accepted, little man! I'm going to clean the whole melon--front, back, top, and bottom.

So there. It's on. And now I'm asking you for your help.

Please fund childhood cancer research by making a donation today.  Every dollar you give will make a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

Did you know that 300,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year? Worldwide, a child is diagnosed every two minutes! And in the U.S., more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease—more than AIDS, asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies and diabetes combined.

Despite these numbers, there’s a big gap between the need for funding to support cures and the money available. That's why St. Baldrick's exists--to help close that gap and save children's lives.

I'm proud to be a part of Team Schmeltzer in the Fulton Royal BALD on March 21st. And I hope you will help us "Shave the Day" for kids.

Donate today.
