I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

St. Baldrick’s is an amazing organization that raises money for childhood cancer research. When Joseph was diagnosed with his brain tumor the most effective treatment had a 60% chance of working. We feel so blessed that we were in the 60% and the fact that his tumor shrunk twice measurably. He is 5 years post chemo at this point. However, we were told that those same medications that saved his life could cause secondary cancer later in life. Statistics also show that because of the treatments that kids receive for childhood cancer, “by the time they’re 45, more than 95% of survivors will have a chronic health problem and 80% will have severe or life-threatening conditions”. St. Baldrick’s is not only looking for better treatments but also safer treatments.

Joseph wanted to honor his friend Austin as he is fighting cancer this year so Team Joseph is “Team Joseph fighting with Austin F”. Wade and I are helping to organize this event this year and I am also a shavee. Please consider donating to help CONQUER KIDS CANCER!!
