My Story
Rory (aka Roy) Gaffney is 14 y/o boy from Myrtle Beach, SC. On June 15, 2025 he was taken to MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital where they found a large tumor in the ventricles of his brain. On June 20th, he had brain surgery and part of the tumor was removed. He remained in PICU for 4 weeks. Then he was admitted to St Jude Children's Research Hospital for radiation and chemo. Roy just finished Radiation this past week and will be done with the clinical trial drug in 3 weeks. After that, Roy and his family will return home to Myrtle Beach. Throughout this entire journey Roy has maintained the most positive attitude. He never complains about anything. He is so brave! He has right hemiparesis so he is wheelchair bound. But he tells everyone that he isn't leaving St. Jude until he can walk out! He is very determined. His medical prognosis is very poor. But is outlook is very bright! We trust in a Sovereign God. We boldly pray for a miracle for Roy! Please join us in prayer for our sweet Roy!
