I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Helloo! Greetings from Cristina Sarrico. I'm a sophomore at Watchung Hills Regional High School , and on March 17 I will be shaving off all of my hair to raise money for childhood cancer research! I decided to participate in St. Baldrick's this year in memory of my aunt, who died of breast cancer before I was born. She had found out her cancer diagnosis while pregnant, delaying needed treatment to sacrifice her life to save her unborn child, my cousin. Her amazing and beautiful sacrifice inspired me to make my own sacrifice and do something to help others battling cancer. Although St. Baldrick’s donates to childhood cancer research rather than breast cancer research, after looking into it I found that childhood cancer research is underfunded compared to other types of adult cancers. And after hearing from my grandma how my aunt felt about losing her hair, I decided that I really wanted to shave my hair in addition to raising money to help prove that bald can be beautiful too. It would mean the world to me if you could make a donation - any amount can make all of the difference!  I know my goal is ambitious, but I know that if we really come together as a community we can achieve it together. Have a wonderful day! :)
