I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with:
Team NetApp
This will be the third time I am shaving my head to raise money for children's cancer research. I got first introduced to this amazing charity through my company and was blown away by the support, generosity and hope at the first event I attended. All in the name of saving children's lives who were suffering from cancer. While I did not participate as a shavee, it was an moving event. Later that year, one of our closest friend's son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Cancer. We were devastated. My family and I got to watch first hand the struggles a child and his family have to endure in fighting these terrible diseases. I shaved for the first time the following year and it was one of the most extraordinary things I have ever done.
During the 4 years of fighting his disease, our friend's son received many treatments and some of those drugs were developed directly from grants obtained from funds raised at St. Baldrick's events. This charity really makes a difference and hopefully through continued participation there will be more cures for even more of these children's cancers.
I participate as a shavee every three years in order to grow my hair out long enough to not only raise money for St. Baldricks but to also donate my flowing locks to Wigs for Kids. Please join me in helping fight children's cancer by donating to this wonderful and impactful cause.
Be it known to all that this participant has dedicated at least three years of service to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation helping kids with cancer throughout all the land.
