"When are you going to shave that thing?" I have been asked that question many times over the past 8 or so months. I stopped trimming my beard (henceforth to be referred to by its proper name, "Joseph") around May of 2016 to commemorate the on-going, unforgettable season for the Chicago Cubs. After they finally did win it all, I felt that I just couldn't part with a constant, hairy reminder of their incredible season. And so as fall turned to winter and as winter slowly transitions to spring, Joseph remains.
But with the 2017 season underway, it is time to retire Joseph. However, Joseph still has the opportunity to do some good and help others by motivating you to donate to its own departure.
I will be shaving Joseph (and my head) to raise money for very important childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded.
Please consider making a donation. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Thank you!
