Hi Family & Friends,
This is David again!! I hope you are all well and enjoying the start of this new year.
As you may know, this is my 8th year participating in St. Baldrick's. I know everyone is aware as to why I do this - -but I want to tell you again. My mom is a twice cancer survivor. She is my hero and a tough cookie (as my father says). I also do this for others who have battled cancer (my cousin Doreen, Aunt Jane) and many that still are battling. When I do this, it makes me feel good that I am helping others. I am also raising money for childhood cancer which is a huge issue and a disease that many are fighting. And finally, I do this to raise awareness. We need to fight for them!
This year I am honoring 2 year old girl named Nataly who suffers from Leukemia. Although I do not know her - the cute picture caught my attention. She is in treatment and we pray that she overcomes this battle. She is way too young to be going through this.
For two years in a row, Troop 125 has raised over $5,000. We hope to meet that goal again. If we are lucky and receive generous donations, we may even exceed it. As team captain again, my job is to encourage as many scouts as I possibly can to join the team and help raise money towards this wonderful cause. My personal goal is to raise $2,000 this year. My parents are the first to donate $100 towards my goal. Last year, with your generous donations, I almost met my goal and helped my team reach their goal as well. I hope that family and friends will be as generous this year.
The event is being held at Commack High School on Friday, March 3, 2017. Please be "a-head" of everyone else and make your pledge today. Below is my link to my webpage:
