I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Leukemia Slayer

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Leukemia Slayer

Ok so if you know me you know that I am no stranger to a bald head! My name is Jacob AKA The Leukemia Slayer. I was diagnosed with high risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia on December 2, 2010 when I was nine years old. I lost my hair during treatment a few times and quickly found out that a head gets pretty cold without hair! Leukemia treatment is very long, three and a half years for me, and I am proud to say I finished my treatment on March 22, 2014.

Last year to celebrate my one year off treatment anniversary I raised money for St Baldrick's by shaving my head at Duke Children's Hospital. I have decided to shave for the brave again this year to celebrate my upcoming 2 years off treatment in March, because  going bald for childhood cancer research is the perfect way to celebrate my big day!
Childhood cancer research is sadly underfunded and that is why so many families that are affected by childhood cancer do fundraising to help find a cure. Every dollar makes a difference for all the kids who have cancer, who had cancer and who will have cancer in the future.
Raising money to help find a cure for childhood cancer means a lot to me and I am very thankful to all my friends and family for their support, together we can help find a cure for childhood cancer!!!
