Sometimes people ask me why I want to be a teacher. It's a long answer, but it boils down to one thing: I want to positively impact the lives of young people. I may not be working in the classroom as of right now, but I'm still trying to do just that. Right now there are kids suffering from any number of cancers that can affect children. Leukemia, brain, nervous system, and Lymphomas are just some of the cancers these young people are fighting through. I can't imagine having a future student or, God forbid, a child of my own who would have to go through that. I want to help put an end to this, and you can help.

Yeah, I know that whole appeal sounds cliche and overplayed, but it comes from the heart. Part of the reason I joined the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at GVSU was because I was impressed by the work this chapter has done for the St. Baldricks Foundation. Now I want to assist in this. We will be holding an event this March which will wrap up our fundraising efforts for the year, but before that, we are making our appeal to you. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers, so I ask you to donate if you can. Help us help St. Baldricks help kids fighting cancer.
