I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

FAQs:
1) Really?!?
Yes!!! It's happening! I had a "maybe" clause here, but the timeline for that scenario has passed. This is my first ever, so I don't know if you'll still be able to donate via this page after the 2nd, but I hope so. I expect a suddenly bald head to be one hell of a conversation piece and I hope I can keep raising money with it for a little while.
2) Why???
I first heard about St. Baldrick's several years ago because I'm a regular at Trinity Hall.  I joked about doing it just to freak out my co-workers. In 2011, UTD hosted a hair donation drive and I participated in that.  I remembered St. Baldrick's but figured that my workplace would object to my not meeting their standards for professional appearance. In 2014, Ferret Steinmetz blogged beautifully and heartbreakingly about Rebecca Meyer, his goddaughter who succumbed to a brain tumor on her sixth birthday.  It was enough to make me *attend* the 2015 St. Baldrick's event at Trinity Hall, but I was still too afraid to participate.

Then a few months ago I found out that my cousin's daughter Kendall had to undergo surgery to remove cancer in her throat (she is currently cancer-free).  And now I don't care if my bosses object.  I am doing this, to honor the one who survived and the one who did not.

3)Can I have your hair when it's gone?

Sorry!  The hair will be donated to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, which makes wigs for adult women with cancer.  So forgive me if I say I hope you never see my hair again.
