I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

This is my third year being involved with St. Baldrick's here at BGSU, and it is certainly a special year for me. This year I have chosen to honor Alexa Brown, one of the BGSU St. Baldrick's Honored Children, who passed away in 2009. Alexa battled cancer for three years, going through chemotherapy and radiation when she should have been playing tag and going to school. As I have been in St. Baldrick's meetings, it has been very strange to here other's using the name Alexa and talking about what she went through and her family. It has been a reminder that this could have been me and my family, and that is why I want to give back.

While my goal is not huge, every cent counts when it comes to the battle against childhood cancers. Parents deserve to plan birthdays instead of funerals, and with your help, we can make that a reality. I appreciate your support on this cause that is so close to my heart.
