My senior year of high school, a young woman from the sophomore class of my tiny school died from Leukemia. My school was new and she was the first student to ever pass away. Needless to say, it hit us all, whether we knew her well or not, extremely hard. We were all praying and rooting for her to keep fighting, but in the end, cancer overtook her and she left this earth to be with God. At the same time, my teacher's young son was battling cancer. Later that year, another student's toddler brother was diagnosed with cancer. He died last spring, at the age of 4.
All of these tragedies could one day be prevented. But it is only through research that we will find a cure. Your small donation of $10 can help be the difference maker in the lives of thousands of children battling horrific cancers. Adult cancers and treatments are much different than children's cancers and treatments and that is why we need more research for each group separately. Every child should have the chance to grow up. With your help, we could make children's cancers a thing of the past.
As a nursing student at the University of Virginia, it is one of my goals to specialize in oncology, and potentially pediatric oncology. With the research that your donation funds, the treatments I will give as a nurse could be much more effective and much less harmful. Help make this dream a reality! Join us in the fight against this terrible disease with your prayers and a small donation!
Thank you!
