I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: North Metro Firefighters & Friends Local 2203

Hello everyone! It's that time of year again! Warmer, springtime days start returning, the green starts showing up everywhere from the trees and lawn to the beer, and St. Baldrick's gears up for their annual fundraiser for childhood cancer research. Some of you may remember this from before and, if so, thank you for your support. For those that aren't familiar with St. Baldrick's and what this is all about:

I'm shaving my head to stand in solidarity with kids battling cancer and to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

This year is going to be even better than years past! Rather than participating at an event in a smaller capacity, my fellow North Metro firefighters and I are hosting our own event, and it is less than a month away! If you'd like to simply donate, that's great, just click the "Donate" button above, and thank you for the support! But if you'd like to do more, you can join our team and shave your head with us, or even better, gather some of your closest friends, family members and coworkers and create your own team and join our event! The more shaved heads the better, plus a little friendly competition can go a long way in maximizing our fundraising efforts for such a great cause! If you're interested in joining our team or creating your own team and joining our event, please contact me or our Team Captain via email for instructions. Thanks again, and keep checking this page for updates!

Sincerely,

Matt Young
