Three years ago, I was confronted by a friend to shave my shoulder-length hair for a charity called St. Baldrick's. I was slightly reluctant and said "I'd think about it" meaning that I probably wasn't going to do it. I went home and thought about it though. I started thinking about the little kids and their suffering. I thought about my own grandfather (my childhood idol) who passed away from lung cancer in the 8th grade I thought about my 16-year-old friend who had suffered from lymphoma and had over a dozen surgeries to keep it at bay. I figured the least I could do was lose a little hair because it is nowhere near the struggle that these courageous boys and girls endure. Since then, I have been a shavee each year. This year I want to raise $1,000 for this amazing cause. Help me to achieve this goal, and let's do it together.
Be it known to all that this participant has dedicated at least three years of service to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation helping kids with cancer throughout all the land.
St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids
Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
