I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Joey's Team - Bald is Beautiful

Most of you know why I shave my head every year for St. Baldrick’s – to raise money for children’s cancer research. Many of you have made it a priority to support me and the St. Baldrick’s mission and I’m extremely grateful for that. Our son Joey is one of the lucky ones. He is a healthy 16-year-old, seven years cancer free. Many families touched by children's cancer aren't so lucky – each of Joey’s roommates at Memorial Sloan Kettering died from the disease. The need for funding for children's cancer research is greater than ever. Reduced government funding increases the pressure on St. Baldrick’s, which is second only to the U.S. government in funding pediatric cancer research grants. As a board member of St. Baldrick’s, I can assure you that your donation is put to its greatest use through peer-reviewed research and keeping the foundation’s fundraising and administrative expense very low. So I’m asking for your support again this year...for you to contribute to my head shaving by using my page on St. Baldrick's site. For those of you who’d like a reminder of our family’s story – or perhaps aren’t aware of how cancer touched our lives and motivated us to shave for St Baldrick’s, please read on below. Thanks so much for your continued support and for your contribution. For those of you in the Indianapolis area, please join us at the event Friday, March 8, from 6-11 p.m.
