I'm (Monica, Brian's mommy) writing this because of my dear friends Martha and Brian Yesowitch and their kids, Asher, Nora...and Nat...This story begins with Nat.
Nat died in 2006, and the tiny age of 3. He lived a little more than a month after he was diagnosed with a tumor growing in his beautiful little head. He was smart, loving and funny. He was a baby. So...I'm telling you all about my very personal reason for encouraging Brian to do St. Baldricks. Nat would be nearly 9 years old now, had he lived. This is just unacceptable. Martha and Brian are huge supporters of the American Cancer Society, and still to this day work tirelessly to support childhood cancer research.
I met Martha on an online due date group for May 2003 babies. Brian, was born too early, but should have been born within days of Nat. Nat was a beautiful, funny little boy. He was the light of everyone's life. We all called him “The Professor”...
Martha, Brian and family continue to be the dearest of my friends, and always will be. “Online” friends who became the dearest of real life friends.
Natty could be any of our kids, he could be yours, mine and should be ours. Remember, it takes a village to raise a child. It takes a village to save a child, and this village honors Nat Yesowitch....for the courageous loving special boy he was.
Please, look at the pictures of our angel boy, and open your hearts and your wallets and donate to our cause in the largest way you can. From all of us, especially “The Professor”....we thank you.
So we've answered the call to be a hero! Brian is having his head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
Please support us with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!

Our family and "chosen" family (friends) have lost many to cancer, both childhood and adult. This is something we believe in. Brian's sister Leslie has donated her hair to "Locks of Love" once, and now it's Brian's turn. Please join us all in the fight against childhood cancer.
I'd like to honor the Angel boy in our lives, Nat Yesowitch.
