Thank you for your support! This will be the fifth time I will be shaving my head in honor of losing our daughter, Isabella, to Leukemia in 2006. I shave my head to honor the battle my daughter fought and I shave my head to honor those who have fallen after her. Most of all I shave my head to honor those tiny soldiers who continue to fight daily for their precious lives. Please consider sponsoring me in this very personal fight to cure childhood cancer. Any amount is appreciated. Life does not prepare parents for a diagnosis of cancer in children. Emotionally, the leap from being a parent of a healthy child to having a child with cancer may simply seem unfathomable. The diagnosis may come as a complete shock or it actually may be somewhat of a relief, depending on how difficult the disease was to diagnose and the child's symptoms prior to diagnosis. Being parents of a child who had cancer, we had no idea how to react to the diagnosis. Our immediate thought was to save our daughter's life above anything. Through the process we found a new normal, although it was stressful. After our stay at Children's Hospital Denver, we vowed to return every year and try to make a difference in at least one life.
