I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Hair Force None

Hey everyone, I know it seems ironically arrogant to ask for donations at a time when pinching pennies has become a necessity, but you'll look really, really bad if you don't donate to charity. Seriously though, none of us are asking for a mortgage payment's worth of donations, just whatever loose fifties you have hiding between your couch cushions. Next time you want to order that second drink or go out to see that movie you heard wasn't that good, just think that that money could go towards helping kids whose childhoods have been stripped away by cancer. And maybe you'll even realize that you can do without movies or drinks for awhile and you'll end up saving money in the long run (none of which you're obligated to donate, but technically we instigated the money saving behavior so it's only fair not to bite the hand that feeds you money hording advice). Donating a few bucks won't kill you but it will save the life of a child stricken with the knell of cancer (not literally, of course, ten dollars won't cure a child's cancer directly, but if many people donate a few dollars then it adds up to enough to fund research that will come up with magical methods of treating cancer so if you find yourself saying, "what can I do? I'm just one person," just know that once you donate even a small amount, you've pretty much filled your karmic obligation because you will have added to the greater good and then you can continue living your life knowing that your small but thoughtful gesture is changing someone's life. And you get to see what my lumpy head looks like under the silky hair I'm so proud of. Thanks very much, Devesh
