I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Kellam Mat Rats

I lost my father to cancer right before the beginning of school this year in August 2022. We lost Abby roughly a year before that (Oct. 2021). Her younger sibling is a 6th grader at Princess Anne Middle. Even as an adult, it is tough to think about. Most days are good, but some moments during the day are rough. I cannot imagine being a 6th grader (in middle school of all the places to be) going through the loss of a sibling. As many of you know, our club is a direct fundraiser for our high school team and the staff is 100% volunteer. My father, who was a huge supporter of our wrestling program (some of you may have met him), was very proud of us for structuring our club in such a manner. He would want nothing more than for us to step up as a community and contribute to such a great cause in honor of Abby Furco and her family. We would love to have everyone participate as a club to support this fight against childhood cancer. The event goal is $10,000. We would like to contribute at least $2,000 as a club.

Wrestlers and families can participate in this event simply by signing up to join the MAT RATS team and attending this fun-filled event on Fri. March 31st. Better yet, we can sign up to be a SHAVEE to make it more fun. The more the merrier! And of course, DONATIONS are a great way to support the event, even if you cannot attend. Please feel free to pass this link on to your friends. We love the idea of supporting such a great cause together as a group. Join us by signing up as a Shavee, attending the event or donating to the cause and let’s see who gets the BEST haircut in honor of Abby Furco!
