I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

In honor of our friend and colleague, Steve Turner, we have created this donation challenge page.

Steve was a supporter of the TP, TW and WTW St. Baldrick's events over the years as a shavee and as an event participant. He also loved and supported the children in his life in his role as uncle, neighbor and friend. As a way to continue to make a difference in the lives of children and remember Steve, we will match contributions made in memory of Steve.

As Steve, the actuary, would have done, the matching protocol is a complex mathematical formula. We have each made a nonmatching contribution of $100 to get the ball rolling. We will start by matching contributions at 21.8666% reflecting the 21.8666 years of service Steve had with WTW.  At every $1,000 threshold the match % will increase 2.78% which is the probability that the Reds win the World Series.  At the $5,000 threshold the match % will increase by twice that.  At the $10,000 level a final additional $1,000 contribution will be made.  (For the non-actuaries, if the goal of $10,000 is met, we will meet our match limit of $5,000.)

Thank you for your donation,

Matt and Shannon
