Did you know:
More children are lost to cancer in the U.S. than any other disease—in fact, more than many other childhood diseases combined.
Before they turn 20, about 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will have cancer.
Due to Covid, a terrible economy and tax law changes, charities including St. Baldrick’s fell well behind in their fund raising goals last year.
Cancer did not take any time off and so we need to fight back even harder this year.
Whether this is the right charity for you or not, please join us for this fun, virtual St. Baldrick’s event on Wednesday, March 24 at 5 PM. We want to see if we can set a record for the most heads shaved for a St. Baldrick’s event on Zoom. This will be a live, simultaneous head shaving event.

Tax Deduction
For the 2021 tax year, the charitable deduction is even better than 2020, at least for those who file a joint return. For 2020, the charitable limit was $300 per “tax unit” – meaning that those who are married and filing jointly can only get a $300 deduction. For the 2021 tax year, however, those who are married and filing jointly can each take a $300 deduction, for a total of $600.

St. Baldrick’s Background
St. Baldrick’s is the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants. St. Baldrick’s gave more than $19 million to childhood cancer research in 2020 – almost all raised by more than 50,000 “shavees” like me. This is a volunteer-powered charity, which keeps fundraising costs low and grants high. Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s has granted more than $300 million to support the development of childhood cancer treatments that have the potential to impact every kid diagnosed with cancer.
Every 2 minutes a child somewhere in the world is diagnosed with cancer. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is on a mission to defy childhood cancers by supporting the most promising research to find cures and better treatments for all childhood cancers. When you give to St. Baldrick’s, you don’t just give to one institution–you give to virtually every institution treating kids with cancer across the U.S. and beyond. As a leader in the pediatric cancer community, St. Baldrick’s works tirelessly to ensure that current and future children diagnosed with cancer will have access to the most cutting-edge treatment from the best leaders in the pediatric oncology field.
