In 2014 I was diagnosed with stage 3b ovarian cancer.
I underwent a big surgery then 18 rounds of chemo (far more tortuous than I can place words on).
Following that I was told that I had a 70-90% chance of recurrence and that if it did come back, I'd likely be dead within 2 years.
While I lay in bed during those 4 months of chemo, feeling sadder and more hopeless than anyone should ever feel, I wished over and over that I would be the last person to ever get cancer.
Unfortunately, I wasn't the last. My 16-year-old neighbor was soon diagnosed. And every month since then, it has been someone else I know, some first-timers, some recurrences.
I grow so weary and sad watching it all happen.
I have to do something... and so do YOU!!!
I've decided to shave my head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U. S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids. Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let's #DFYchildhoodCancers together.
