After I found out my Aunty Frances was diagnosed with breast cancer I felt very sad, but I was glad to hear that the survival rates for the kind of cancer she has have improved a lot because of cancer research. It’s so important that research can continue.
I heard about St. Baldrick’s and I thought that shaving my head would be a great way to show my support for my Aunty and to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! I think that any kind of cancer research is beneficial. My hair is going to be collected and donated to ‘Locks for Love’ so it can be used to make prosthetics for kids who need them because of cancer treatment, so it’s a win/win.
I saw the profile for H. Matteo S. on the St. Baldrick’s site. He lives near me and I wanted to honor him along with my Aunty Frances and I hope that they both recover soon.
I was surprised to read that every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive. I think this is really sad and we can make it better. Please help me to reach my goal.
My goal is to raise $1000.
Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let’s #DFYchildhoodCancers together.
