I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Katherine

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Katherine

March of 2013 my father Charles Ford joined Team Katherine after hearing the story of Katherine’s, my sister’s co-worker’s niece, battle with cancer. Which she conquered!

My dad loved children and was thankful that his children, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews as well as many friends children were all healthy and able to live happy childhoods.

He proudly shaved in March of 2013 and was planning on participating as a shavee for many years to come.  He hoped to have a Poney tail to shave off in 2014 and was planning different ways to  raise money for the cause!

On July 30,2013 my dad felt ill and was admitted to the hospital.  He sadly passed away on July 31, 2013.  Before my dad was welcomed through Heaven’s gates I made him 2 promises.  First I would take care of my mom, Marilyn Ford.  Second that I would take his place in the 2014 St. Baldrick’s event, which he was so looking forward to.

What started for me as a way to honor my dad’s memory has become so much more to me.  This year will be my 7th year Braving the shave in order to raise money to fund finding cures for childhood cancers.  It’s empowering for me to know that being a bald woman for a period of time can make a difference in so many young lives❤️.

Please consider sponsoring my shave, large or small every donation helps the cause!!

❤️Charles Ford you will always be my hero, if not for your kindness I would not be shaving for the 7th year❤️

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
