Help me smile and get rid of my Cosmo Kramer wannabe hair.
In 2018, cancer struck more of my family and friends than any other year that I recall. It was an exhausting year with having so many people I know and care for be stricken with cancer and knowing that I could only do so much to help.
Back in November, shortly after my dad passed away, I forwent shaving and haircuts to raise awareness to both men's health issues as well as cancer awareness. During that time, I made a pledge: If I raised enough money for that charity, then I would be willing to shave my head with St. Baldricks if my friends would be willing to show that same support now. So here we are, and I'm humbly asking for your support again.
I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research.
Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
With the amazing support of family and friends over the first few days, I've updated my goal as $1,234.67 for this effort to $2,345,78. Why these amounts? Twofold: 1) while the amount may seem arbitrary, it's meant to support that a donation in any amount and every penny will help and 2) I'm a smart aR$e and know darn well that the odd number that also excludes the 5 will drive a few friends crazy and perhaps they'll donate an extra few cents to try and even the numbers out. :)
Lastly, if you work for a Company that offers a Gift Matching Program, please take a couple of minutes and complete that form.
As with November, I'm anticipating having a great time connecting with family and friends and having fun with this, whether it's on social media, phone calls or in this case, joining me at the Shave on April 27th.
Thanks for your consideration!
Dan
BTW, this won't grow back gray will it?
